The Dress that Looks Good on Everyone
I designed the silhouette of this dress with the intention of flattering a diverse range of body types. This dress is for the women who inspire me in my life’s work and in my perspective of what it means to be ‘put together’.

Making the protoype …
Following the positive response to the dress at NYFW 2023, I decided to mass-produce the dress. I attended Harlem Fashion Row’s designer retreat in Spring 2024 and met a lot of seasoned fashion designers who talked me through the process of going from idea to physical product and all the logistics involved in the supply chain.
I worked with Thaka Atelier to go from my design sketches to the initial physical samples. Satisfied with these samples, I worked with JIRU Fashion to produce the technical sketches of my initial illustrations. The most pivotal collaboration was working with Newline Fashion Group in NYC. They worked with me to develop the initial prototypes from their factory.
Following the decision not to mass-produce samples came the hurdles around logistics. I was discouraged by the amount of human labor involved in garment manufacturing, which increases the cost of production. I will continue to design collections, create single samples, and showcase my work in curated events.
